Erythrina mulungu Mart. (syn. E. verna) is a Brazilian tree of Cerrado and Caatinga.
Studies show that the herb is a sedative, and has anxiolytic and anticonvulsant properties [1] [2] [3] [4]. This may be in part due to one of the alkaloids found in E. mulungu, scoulerine [5].
