An Erudite is a variant of a psion from the game Dungeons and Dragons. It was introduced as a new base class in Dragon 319 and rewritten as a variant of the psion base class in Complete Psionic. Erudites are almost identical to psions, as they both posess the ability to manifest psychic powers, but while the psion has a limited repertoire of powers that can only be expanding by gaining levels and feats, the erudite can learn a potentially unlimited number of powers by "copying" them from the minds of others or from psionically-empowered items, somewhat like how a wizard learns by copying new spells to his spellbook. In this fashion, an erudite can learn powers from any psionic class. This flexibility is balanced by the fact that he can only call upon a very limited selection of powers from his repertoire in a day (this selection is not made in advance).

All erudites can create for themselves a psicrystal (as opposed to psions who must first train in this skill). They have as many power points as psions do, and must rest for 8 hours to replenish them.
