Ernst Thälmann is a East German duology film directed by Kurt Maetzig, about the German Communist leader Ernst Thälmann (1886 - 1944), starring Günther Simon in the part as Thälmann.

• The first film, from 1954, Ernst Thälmann - Sohn seiner Klasse (Son of his Class).

• The second film, from 1955, Ernst Thälmann - Führer seiner Klasse (Leader of his Class).
