Ernest Tawireyi is a Zimbabwean sculptor.
The first born in a family of seven, Tawireyi was educated in the rural areas of Chihota; due to financial troubles he did not complete his O Levels. He moved to Harare, working as a jackhammer operator for a construction company. After nearly three years, he began to learn how to carve stone, working with his uncle, Sylvester Mubayi. His first major exhibition was in 1995 at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. Tawireyi's subject matter is generally taken from nature.
