[edit] Blacks and Mormonism

I'm interested in helping improve the article titled Blacks and Mormonism. I worte a paper on the same topic in college: African American Mormons and the Evolution of Church Policy. I think the article is too long, the current structure is confusing, and the apparent thesis violates NPOV.

To help shorten the article someone else has already written seperate articles on the Curse and mark of Cain and the Curse of Ham. I suspect additional seperations will also be helpful. The scope of this article is quite broad, so a seperate article on the priesthood restriction might be in order. I think a new, chronological structure will make the page easier to read. The current struction seems to be making points in succession towards the conclusion that Mormons were (or are) racists. That Mormons belive that God was (or is) racists. From the discussion pages its obvious that these views are keenly felt, but I do not belive they are appropriate for an encyclopedia. The straight facts are shameful enough without such editorializing.
