I was born in 1963, in France. Currently living Paris downtown for 15 years.
My main quest in composing images is about proportions, proportions for everything; lines lengths, lines angles, textures, colours, lights and shadows, shapes, paterns … In a way I feel close to the renaissance painters, I try to get as much harmonious proportions as possible in every single photo. It is really fascinating how very small camera movements change all the lines and angles, allowing infinite graphic possibilities. Long time ago, I have been trained as a classical musician and I think my obsession for harmonies directly comes from my immoderate love for the music of J.S.Bach. Just like in J.S.Bach’s music I only use simple and elementary ratios to create geometrical and spatial harmonies, always very simple ones but in abundance.
I want my images to be as simplistic as possible in terms of colours to maximise the images geometries readability. I focus on limited colours ranges; to have 2 or 3 tones only in addition to the Black and White is really something important to me.
I exclusively work using digital equipment; at the moment I use an Olympus C-8080 Wide Zoom (8 megapixels) and a Sony DSC-R1 (10.3 megapixels) that are impressive pieces of equipment. They are light, responsive, reliable and completely silent with outstanding optics, they give me all I want: Sharp images!
I've decided to help improving Wikipedia photography giving my own works to the Wikimedia Commons project because I really love the Wikipedia human adventure.
