Did he get married?

Did he serve in the war?

[edit] Military Service

Some references that I have seen say that he served in the Army during WWII and others the RAF as in the Wikipedia article. jmb 14:27, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

According to Debrett's "wireless operator Mobile Signals Unit RAF 1941-47" jmb 14:32, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

There was a letter in the Daily Telegraph 11th May 2003 from which it seems he served in a RAF Special Liaison Unit with Bill Fraser. These were the units that passed the information decoded at Bletchley Park to senior military officers in the field. --jmb 11:23, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Unsung hero"

"He is widely regarded as an unsung hero behind much British comedy over the past fifty years." Where is the survey where this view was widely expressed? I always thought he was a sung hero. Dw290 13:49, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
