Erik Suter

Erik Suter is Organist and Associate Choirmaster at Washington National Cathedral in Washington, DC. He also travels as a solo organist and teaches organ at American University. He studied organ at Oberlin College with Haskell Thomson. As a younger organist, he received many awards in organ competitions and served as Assistant Organist and Choirmaster in parishes in Boston, Massachusetts and New Haven, Connecticut.
His organ playing has been televised internationally at services from Washington National Cathedral.
Suter has recorded as a soloist on the following recordings:
- Fete Francais, a CD of French compositions, recorded at St. James Episcopal Church in Richmond, Virginia on the JAV label
- On A Sunday Afternoon: Volume I, the complete organ works of Maurice Duruflé, recorded at Washington National Cathedral on the JAV label--part of a series of live organ concerts recorded at the cathedral
- Romantic Thunder, compositions by Franz Liszt and Julius Reubke recorded at Washington National Cathedral on the Pro Organo label
He has also been featured on choral recordings from Washington National Cathedral.
