Ericameria, with various common names, is a member of the Asteraceae family. It is a deciduous shrub, similar to sagebrush with a native range in the arid western United States and Mexico. It is known for its bright white or yellow flowers in late summer. E. nauseosus is known for its production of latex.
Ericameria species are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including Schinia argentifascia, Schinia tertia, Schinia unimacula and Schinia walsinghami.
