Eric S. Nylund

Eric S. Nylund (born 1964) is a novelist and a professional technical writer. He holds a B.Sc. in chemistry and an M.Sc. in chemical physics. Currently working for Microsoft as a writer, he lives in North Bend, in the Seattle, Washington area and is married to the science fiction author Syne Mitchell. Recently he worked on developing the story and setting for the Epic Games' Xbox 360 video game Gears of War. Nylund's third Halo novel, Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, was released on October 31, 2006. His Halo works feature an in-depth look at how the series began and provides background that is crucial in understanding the development of the Master Chief and other characters.
