From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Eric T. Erlandson (born January 9, 1963, in Los Angeles, California) was the co-founder of and lead guitarist for 90's rock/grunge band Hole.
Before joining Hole, Erlandson used to work for Capitol Records. He has been linked to Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, and at one time dated actress Drew Barrymore, who is the godmother of Cobain and Love's daughter Frances Bean. Also had a relationship with Hole bassist Kristen Pfaff around the time of her death from a heroin overdose, two months after the release of Hole's second album, Live Through This. Eric was the one who found her lifeless in a bathtub.
Eric is no longer in contact with Courtney Love, but he remains good friends with Melissa Auf der Maur, and played guitar on one track (Would If I Could) from her 2004 solo album Auf Der Maur. Eric also worked on former Spice Girl Mel C's 2003 album, Reason, and Fischerspooner's 2005 work, Odyssey.
Eric has practiced Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism since the 1990s. Currently, he is studying creative writing in Los Angeles.
