ERCOT

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is a non-profit organization with an oversight committee at the Public Utility Commission of Texas which regulates the standards, operating procedures and operating costs among other things. ERCOT is the Independent System Operator for a region that covers about 75% of the Texas land area and 85% of the electric load in Texas.
