Eraring Power Station is one of two coal fired electricity power stations on the shores of Lake Macquarie. Eraring is located on the western shore of the lake, near the township of Dora Creek. It has four steam driven turbo generators, with a total capacity of 2,640 MW of electricity.

The first turbo generator was brought online in 1982, with the second and third generators in 1983, and the fourth in 1984. Eraring uses salt water from Lake Macquarie for cooling.

The coal for Eraring comes from five mines in the local area, delivered by rail and private road.
