Era Aviation

Era Aviation (IATA: 7H, ICAO: ERH, and Callsign: Era) [1] is an airline based in Anchorage, Alaska, USA. It operates a network of services from Anchorage as part of Alaska Airlines Commuter service. Its main base is Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.

The airline was established and started operations in 1948 when Carl Brady flew what was the first commercial helicopter to Alaska to work on a mapping contract for the US government. Scheduled passenger services began in May 1983.

Era Aviation recently filed for protection from creditors under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code. As part of its reorganization efforts it has ceased operations from its base in Bethel, Alaska where it provided passenger, mail, and cargo services to the surrounding villages.
