Equestrian competitions at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics will be held from August 9 to August 20.

6 sets of medals will be awarded in the following events:

  • Individual Dressage
  • Team Dressage
  • Individual Jumping
  • Team Jumping
  • Individual Eventing
  • Team Eventing

[edit] Dressage

An NOC may enter up to 3 athletes if they qualified for the team competition, or up to 2 athletes if they didn't.

Individual qualification will be decided by the FEI Olympic Riders Ranking as of May 1, 2008.

  • The Host Nation will be awarded 1 place if not qualified ( People's Republic of China People's Republic of China / Hong Kong Hong Kong, China )
  • 1 place for the best ranked NOC in each of the following regions:
    • North Western Europe
    • South Western Europe
    • Central & Eastern Europe; Central Asia
    • North America
    • Central & South America
    • Africa & Middle East
    • South East Asia; Oceania
  • Other places to complete the quota will be allocated to best ranked individuals not qualified above and invitation places.

An NOC may enter up to 4 athletes if they qualified for the team competition, or up to 2 athletes if they didn't.

  • Should a Host Nation not enter a team it shall qualify 1 or 2 riders (1/1)

  • Olympic Riders Ranking Olympic Group C (3)
  • 2007 Pan-American Games Group D (1)
  • 2007 Pan-American Games Group E (4)
  • 2006 World Equestrian Games Group F (2) / 2007 Olympic Qualifying Event Group F (1)
  • 2006 World Equestrian Games Group G (1) / 2007 Olympic Qualifying Event Group G (1)
