Eoin Kelly (born 6 January 1982) is an Irish sportsman. He is the right corner-forward on the Tipperary senior hurling team.
Eoin Kelly was born in Mullinahone on the Tipperary-Kilkenny border in 1982. He was educated locally and later at Kilkenny's famed hurling academy, St. Kieran's College, where he won an All-Ireland Colleges medal in 2000. During his tenure at St. Kieran's he only ever lost one hurling game. Kelly later studied civil engineering at Limerick Institute of Technology and graduated in 2006. He won a Fitzgibbon Cup medal with the college in 2005. Kelly plays his club hurling with his native Mullinahone and has so far won a County Senior Hurling medal with the club in 2002. On the occasion of the final he scored 2-7 and was awarded with the man of the match title.
Due to his prowess at hurling Kelly was quickly selected for inter-county duty. He made his minor debut for Tipperary as a goalkeeper at the age of 15, winning 2 Munster minor medals in 1997 and 1999. Kelly went on to make his Under-21 debut at the age of 17, winning a further 2 Munster Championship medals in 1999 and in 2003 when he was captain of the side. He soon joined the Tipperary senior hurling panel, playing his first game against Galway in the All-Ireland quarter-final in 2000 where he doubled as sub-goalie and sub-forward. Since then he has come to be known as one of the best forwards in the game. 2001 proved to be one of the best years for Kelly as a hurler. He was a key member of the panel when Tipp won the National League, the Munster Championship and the All-Ireland Championship. Kelly also won a Railway Cup medal with Munster in 2001 and was named in the corner-forward position on the All-Star team of that year, before being awarded the title of Vodafone Young Hurler of the Year. He received this honour once again in 2002, as well as claiming a further 4 All-Star awards in subsequent years.
In the 2006 Championship Kelly emerged as one of the best and most prolific scorers in the game, scoring a remarkable 2-23 in Tipperary's two opening games against Limerick and Waterford. His tally of 2-9 in the second game equalled the total scored by the entire Waterford team and landed him a place on the top ten list of all-time scoring greats. Eoin's brother Paul also plays senior hurling with Tipperary.he is the best
