Envolution
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Envolution began as a fork of PostNuke and quickly grew into the most advanced 'nuke' style content management system of its time.
Envolution left its mark on 'nuke' communities by becoming the first content management system of its kind to create and develop a smarty based templating engine called Encompass. True separation of the presentation layer was realized when Encompass was combined with another Envolution developed jewel called envRender.
PostNuke uses quite a bit of original Envolution code in their content management system including Encompass and envRender. Now known as Xanthia and pnRender.
The Envolution Project formally disbanded as a community project in 2003 and was reborn as a business entity called Envolution Software. Envolution Software serves as a holding company for various other projects and products.
