Which criteria of notability from WP:MUSIC does this band meet? Wikibofh 15:30, September 1, 2005 (UTC)
I quote the Notability page, "Important note: This is a criterion for speedy deletion. The fact that an article does not meet guidelines on this page does not necessarily mean it qualifies for speedy deletion, as a mere claim of notability (even if contested) may avoid deletion under A7.
Many of us who spend a lot of time improving Wikipedia's musical coverage feel that notability is required for a musical topic (such as a band) to deserve an article here. Please note that the failure to meet any of these criteria does not mean an article must be deleted; likewise, the meeting of any of these criteria does not mean that an article must be kept. These are merely rules of thumb which some editors choose to keep in mind when deciding whether or not to keep an article that is on articles for deletion.
Also, please keep in mind that the article in question must actually document that the criterion is true. It is not enough to make vague claims in the article or rant about a band's importance on a talk page or AfD page -- the article itself must document notability."
Why is everyone obsessed with deleting pages just because they haven't heard of them? This is getting silly now. Enter Shikari are a prominant band of the local scene, being in magazines and such(though whenever someone says a band have been in a publication or in the media, someone says that doesn't mean they're eligable for a page, so the Notability Music page is used when somebody wants the page deleted, but then the ideas for are disputed when used in favour of the band, you really can't win, can you?) --Duffers 11:16. 3 April 2006 (GMT)
[edit] Criteria
This meets the criteria. They're a released artist, they've performed at large concerts, and I see people listening to them all the time. If this was deleted, it'd be the second time today that I've came on here looking for info, only to have to get it via the deletion log. Not all that helpful. :p Esteffect 00:55, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
