Enterprise Plc (LSE: ETR) is one of the UK's British leading support services companies based in Leyland in Lancashire, England. Their core markets are local authorities, central government and utility sectors.

The public sector business is focused on maintenance, rehabilitation and repair of infrastructure.
The company provides direct and consultancy services for over 50 local authorities in:
- Streetscene-Waste Management
- Street Cleansing
- Street lighting
- Highways Maintenance
- Grounds Maintenance
- Housing Maintenance
- Gas Maintenance
Enterpise entered into a full joint venture company with Liverpool City Council, Enterprise – Liverpool, which delivers the full range of street based and housing maintenance services.
The company also has long term partnerships with a variety of clients in the public sector including two separate joint ventures with Carillion and Atkins for work with the Ministry of Defence, both over 10 years in duration.

The company's consulting business undertakes work for local authorities, central government and European agencies and specialises in strategic development, economic, social and entrepreneurial development, and planning and management of improvement programmes.
[edit] Economic and Social Regeneration
The company was born out of economic regeneration, the Enterprise element of the company originally being Lancashire Enterprises Ltd, the eceonomic regeneration arm of Lancashire County Council. Consequntly, their roots and heritage are firmly in the areas of economic and social regeneration particularly in planning, developing, and implementing sub-regional strategies.

Enterprise operates as a service support partner to blue chip companies such as BT, United Utilities, Severn Trent and Thames Water offering both direct and consultancy services.
Water – Enterprise offers a wide range of services for both the clean and dirty water networks. Long term major period contracts, alliances and partnerships exist with clients including Thames Water, Severn Trent and Three Valleys Water.
Telecommunications – The company manages small customer provision and repair works, through to extensive network renewal and investment schemes. Enterprise has been working as a major partner with BT since 1964 and has won BT supplier of the year award on numerous occasions. As part of this relationship the company has developed bespoke ERP system to handle e-business, remote working, order management and commercial transactions.
Electricity – The company's experience in the wider utilities market has allowed them to develop network maintenance services throughout the electricity distribution industry.
Gas – National Grid Transco partners with Enterpise for mains and service replacements. In addition, the company undertakes customer service connections work for Fulcrum Connections.
Following the acquisiton of Subterra, from Thames Water, Enterprise are also leaders in the field of "no dig technology" for the utilities sector.
