Talk:Enlightened Absolute Monarchy in Sweden

This article needs an introduction, it just dives right into some dense history with nothing to explain the context or the bigger picture. Night Gyr 13:26, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
I noticed in the picture found at this address: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographic_transition that the demograhpic data for Sweden shows a very high peak in CDR (crude death rate) for years 1772-1774. That made me curious and I was seeking here some kind of explanation. Was there any big war in that period?
There is no context to this article whatsoever. Please, someone add an introduction.194.109.198.99 16:22, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
Gustav III and IV never ruled as true absolute monarchs because the Riksdag still had the right to impose taxes.
Karl XI and XII were true autocrats. / Anonymous Swede
