English Touring Opera is one of the leading opera companies in the United Kingdom.

ETO's mission is to present vibrant, innovative, and high quality opera to existing and new audiences throughout the UK ETO seeks to stimulate new access, understanding and appreciation of this genre, whilst promoting the development of the highest performance standards and enlivening career development opportunities for artists.

In the autumn of 2006, ETO will mount a baroque opera festival which includes 5 operas - Handel's Tolomeo, Claudio Monteverdi's Orfeo, Francesco Cavalli's Erismena, Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and Giacomo Carissimi's Jephte and over 40 complimnentary events in tweleve venues throughout the UK.
