English Dances
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
English Dances for Orchestra (Op.27) and (Op.33) are two sets of light music pieces, composed by Sir Malcolm Arnold in 1950 and 1951. Each set consists of four dances inspired by, although not based upon, country folk tunes and dances. They exist in a number of arrangements for orchestra, concert band and military band by the composer. Each movement is denoted by the tempo marking, as the individual movements are untitled.
Allegro Non Troppo has been used for many years as the theme tune to the BBC series What the Papers Say.
