Emurit (エムリット Emuritto?) is one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. Emurit is a legendary Pokémon that premiers in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The purpose of Emurit in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.[2]
The first part, emu- (エム), of Emurit's name (エムリット) means "to smile", which is related to the fact that Emurit is the Emotion Pokémon. The -rit part may come from "Ifrit", a species of djinn or from "spirit".

[edit] Appearance
Emurit has a small blue body about the size of Mew. It has a pink head with a jewel encrusted in its forehead, and four long ears drooping down its head. Like Yuxie and Agnome, its partners in the legendary trio, it has two tails with jewels encrusted on them, and the only major difference between them is its head and its face. Due to its pink-like appearance, it is guessed to honor the pokemon: Parukia.
Emurit is referred to as the "god of emotion". It's said that Emurit taught humans to sense emotion such as the pain of sorrow and the value of joy.[3]
[edit] In the video games
Emurit is one of the legendary Pokemon in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It is part of a psychic trio along with Yuxie and Agnome. All three of them are captured by Team Galaxy, and have to be freed by the protagonist. The three will try to stop Dialga or Palkia from overwhelming Sinnoh later in the game.
After defeating Dialga or Palkia, it flees to Trust Lake. Instead of battling you, like Yuxie and Agnom, it will flee, and will roam like other legendaries before them. It can be tracked on the Pokétch. It is at level 50, like Agnome and Yuxie.
Among the three, Emurit has the second-highest Attack, Defense, Special Attack and Special Defense, and possesses the highest HP.
A good idea of catching Emurit is using the map. Unlike in previous games, you can see Emurit change routes. This makes catching Emurit much easier.
[edit] In the animé
Emurit first appeared in Diamond & Pearl's first episode, in a transparent form in front of Hikari and Pochama, similar to how Ash saw Ho-oh (and eventually, Suicune). Consistent to the games, Emurit was in a lake.
