[edit] Image Tagging Image:The ring poster2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:The ring poster2.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag, so its copyright status is therefore unclear. Could you add a tag to let us know its copyright status? (If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know on the image description page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Otherwise, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Thanks so much. Extraordinary Machine 03:04, 8 August 2005 (UTC)
-
- When you upload box art or screenshots from games, please add the appropriate tag, as said above. Thunderbrand 00:34, August 25, 2005 (UTC)
-
- I see your still uploading images without a copyright tag. I don't want to make it a chore to constantly check your contributions, so please add an image tag. Thunderbrand 03:34, August 28, 2005 (UTC)

Do everyone here a favor and start tagging your images. It is very easy. If you don't, we're going to start deleting them on sight. If you aren't sure how to do it, please feel free to ask, I'd be glad to explain. It only takes half a second for you to do when you upload them. --Fastfission 18:22, 7 September 2005 (UTC)

Hi, welcome to the Cleanup Taskforce! I've added some hopefully clearer instructions as to the process of creating a desk to the members page, can you let me know if they work for you? If you still need help I can create a desk for you, if you don't mind me editing your User page; just leave me a message. - Hey, I can tweak the template some more for you, how many maximum tasks do you want on accept your desk? — MC MasterChef :: Leave a tip — 03:12, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

- No problem, I need a number of tasks you're willing to accept at any one time to complete the table though; for example, on my desk, I've set a limit of two tasks at any one time. Depending on how much attention you plan on devoting to Cleanup Taskforce jobs, you can set this as low as one task or as high as ten or more. I've set two as a filler for now, if you'd like it change you can do so or I'll update it for you. Cheers, — MC MasterChef :: Leave a tip — 05:43, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry...
I did not mean to offend. It's just that the picture was not marked with any copyright information (and you have to admit the above comments would indicate you have a messy history in that matter), and animated gifs don't really seems appropriate for Wikipedia. It was a little hard to see what was going on in it anyway. Again, no hard feelings. elvenscout742 14:26, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:Kitfisto.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Kitfisto.gif. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairusein|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. Hello, mate, I see that you are interested in Eurovision (at least Russians eg, Julia Savicheva and Natalia Podolskaya. Would you like to be involved in connecting with more eurovision wikipedians to do up the eurovision pages in a more coherent manner? I have come across the Eurovision wikiproject page, which seems to have been dormant for over two years. It may be an idea to have a look there and see how we could improve the eurovision coverage. I have done up the Congratulations (Eurovision) page so far and put notes about it on the pages of those who performed there. Best regards from Australia, Blnguyen 23:56, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi Empty2005. I don't think either page warrants protection at this time. See the protection policy for further information about the circumstances in which protection can be employed by admins. If you feel that protection is justifiable, the quickest way to seek remedy is through Wikipedia:Requests for page protection - which is watched by several sysops. [edit] I would love your help.
Hi,
I know you are interested in christianity, and I recently started a new wiki over at wikicities which is on the subject of christianity. Christian Knowledge Base is the site.
The goal is to have a knowledgebase on christianity from a distinctly "C(hristian)POV" rather than the NPOV. It is not meant to be a mere Christian Encyclopedia, but to foster a real sense of community. I'd like to include things like current events, news, stories, and anything that would add to both an understanding of Christianity, but also its enjoyment. I'm looking for help to build a resource that could really enrich the lives of Christians.
I know you are busy but I am actively seeking new sysops/admins to help me build this site up, and I would be positively thrilled if you could contribute in any capacity whatsoever. nsandwich 05:51, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

- Oh I see what you mean. Yeah. You're right with the Ring around the rosies things, but that's a very very small part of the film. (A stub, if you will). This whole story was actually much more based on the Gunpowder plot, and the whole thing with Guy Fawkes. (I'm going to remove it, in case it gets anyone confused!) Thanks for the imput though, just thought I'd fly this by you first. Cheers.--P-Chan 05:02, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wide Release/ Non Wide Released Movies
Please stop posting limited released movies in the wide released movie section on the 2006 in Film page. Wide Release means 600 or more theatres, not every film that comes out during the weekend. I am getting tired of cleaning up your mess you create when you put both limited and wide released movies on the column. There is a spot for wide release, and a spot for limited release. [edit] Wikipedia:Wikiproject Horror/Collaboration of the month
Hi! I noticed your name on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Horror membership list and am writing to all members who have not voted for the Collaboration of the month. Today is the designated selection day to choose the collaboration, but we currently have a tie between the two articles receiving the most votes, John Carpenter and Dario Argento. I am hoping to remedy this by drumming up a few more votes. Note that by voting for any nominated article (not limited to these two) you are indicating your "commitment to support and aid in collaborating on that specific article if it is chosen," so please feel absolutely free to ignore this message if for any reason you don't wish or would not be able to participate.--Fuhghettaboutit 22:50, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Your article on Maximillian Kohler is very wrong. At the end of Angels and Demons it is revealed that the camerlengo was behind everything. Thanks for uploading Image:Grudge2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:Bloodrayne9.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Bloodrayne9.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Thegrudge2 bigreleaseposter.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Thegrudge2 bigreleaseposter.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Image:Imogen bailey.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Imogen bailey.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 21:31, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
