[edit] cleanup tag
Considering that the cleanup tag was from October of 2005, and nothing on the discussion page explains why it is there, I am going to remove it.

[edit] What on earth
..is the point of all these 'citation needed'-templates inserted behind every second sentence? There's a link on the bottom of the article to the site this article is about. The FAQ there backs up every 'disputed' sentence. What do you want the creators to do, put 240 links to every subpage of their FAQ at the bottom of this article? Joffeloff 17:21, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
- I agree, I think they should be removed. If you are going to put a dispute tag on an article you should back it up in the discussion. HighInBC 19:17, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Editing quotes
A recent revision editted the section of the board's policies. I agree that the original text was silly and deserved to be edited. But the article implies it was quoted material. Regardless of the quality of the source, a quote is a quote and should not be changed. MK2 02:26, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] reason for removal of deletion suggestion
Wikipedia is probably by far the worst place to advertise anything for the simple fact that you have to be explicitly searching for said item for it to be seen. Therefore I conclude that "advertisement" is not a sufficient cause for deletion. By the way maybe I have misunderstood your reason for deletion next time you try and slate and article for such leave a coment to justify your claims. 67.39.198.138 02:48, 3 July 2006 (UTC) Ryan W.
- Empornium has constantly fought against it's popularity, closing itself to new member several times. It has never needed to spam, or advertise on forums or wikis. It is one of the largest porn torrent sites on the internet, if not the biggest. It is encyclopedic, and noteworthy. The article has many contributors and can not be seen as a vanity article in any way.
- I first found this article when I searched for it trying to find information about the site. If this article is put up for deletion I will vote for keep HighInBC 02:25, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reason for membership explosion
As you know many members deleted their account in protest of this change of hands. This cause the amount of members to drop from about 800,000 to 450,000. I too followed in this action, but today I find my account has been 'undeleted'. I would like to find out if they have actually just rolled back to a backup from before the large amount of deletions, and then maybe make a note on the official page to let those that believe their account is safely deleted know to re-delete their acount.
- As far as I can tell (from the general consensus in #empornium on irc.whatnet.org) they've restored the users table to a previous back up(before the surge of users deleting their accounts) this morning (9/7/06)81.179.83.184

- The Truth (according to #empornium & former admins):
- TargetPoint deleted 350.000 (inactive) users. 800.000 => 450.000. TargetPoint realized, this wasn't a good idea. Targetpoint restored a backup. 450.000 => 800.000.
