Empire Times

Empire Times is the student newspaper of Flinders University. It is published by the Students' Association of Flinders University (SAFU) and has been published since 1967. The editorial team of the paper is elected by all students at Flinders University. The editors are constitutionally required to produce at least ten printed editions of the paper during the academic year, and generally produce twelve editions, amounting to fortnightly publication while classes are in session. Empire Times has a history of controversial humour and anti-establishment discussion. Notable former editors include Steph Key and Kate Ellis. The editors in 2005 were Alex Rafalowicz, Megan McFarlane and Bowen Ellames. The editors for 2006 are Ellames, Helene Sobolewski and Tommy Greenfield.
Currently The Empire Times is not being printed due to a lack of funds. Construction has however begun on new online student media currently known as FlindersStudents
