Empire Airlines (1976-1985)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Empire Airlines was a regional airline serving the Northeastern United States beginning in 1976. In 1985, the airline was purchased by Piedmont Airlines, which later became part of the US Airways Express network.

Initially, Empire Airlines began its hub at the Oneida County Airport serving Utica and Rome, New York. Near the end of the airline's existence, service was greatly reduced in Utica and most service was through Syracuse Hancock International Airport.
