Emmanuel Korab
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Emmanuel Korab is a Traditionalist Catholic bishop from the Czech Republic.
Following the precedent of Francis Schuckardt, he solicited ordination from and was ordained by a bishop of the Old Catholic Church, but did not become an Old Catholic priest himself.
He was later conditionally re-ordained by José Ramon Lopez-Gaston in 1994. It is reported that he was later conditionally re-ordained again in 1998 by Arrigo Pintonello, Roman Catholic Bishop Emeritus of Latina-Terracina-Sezze-Priverno.
He was consecrated bishop in Czechoslovakia by a bishop of the Czech Old Catholic Church. Later he was conditionally re-consecrated on June 26, 1994 in Assisi, Italy by José Ramon Lopez-Gaston. Owing to the doubtful consecration of Jean Gerrard Roux who had conditionally consecrated Jose Ramon Lopez-Gaston, Dr. Elizabeth Gerstner arranged for a sub-conditione ordination to the priesthood and consecration to the Episcopate by an aged Roman Catholic Bishop residing in the Vatican (not Mgr. Pintonello). This Bishop cannot be named as he is still alive and may suffer reprisals at the hands of Vatican officials. These two acts were witnessed and well documented.
