[edit] US 44

Are we sure that US 44 will end at 3? My understanding is that it will multiplex with 3 south to the current interchange and run east to continue ending at 3A. --SPUI (talk) 15:33, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

Thinking about it a bit more, I remember reassurance showing the multiplex, placed when the first section of freeway opened. Is this still marked, or have those signs been removed? --SPUI (talk) 15:39, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

Ah, took a while to find the evidence. Here is a post on ne.transportation talking about the reassurance signs - they were quickly removed. However, signage on new US 44 east still shows it, at least in early 2004. --SPUI (talk) 16:28, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Cambot's operator and speaking role

I agree with you at Talk:MST3K that some of the information on Cambot may be a bit trivial for Wikipedia, but it has come up at Talk:Cambot. Do you have a source for Kevin Murphy's statements about his credit for operating Cambot and that lost-episode speaking role? Thanks. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 18:46, 2 October 2005 (UTC)

I think it's mentioned in the FAQ
Never mind...it would seem that it was only on the never-aired pilot, and most fans nowadays chalk the voice up to being a proto-"Magic Voice"
Darn. I was hoping you had a verifiable source. I don't think "it would seem" isn't enough to justify inclusion at Cambot. If you come across a source, let me know (or just add the info yourself, of course). ~ Jeff Q (talk) 07:05, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] MST3K tape-circulating message

I see that you've added the following text to Mystery Science Theater 3000:

Before season 5 started, lawyers alerted them that the phrase may constitute a support of piracy.

Do you have a source for this? Thanks. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 04:11, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

http://www.mst3k.com/mstfaq/legal.html
Though they are incorrect on its perceived use in Season 1....I have all the season 1 eps and the line does not appear in the credits of any of them (even an official source can be wrong sometimes). I should correct them on that.
Thanks for the link! I've just added a References section to the article, for items that have been used as source material for the information in the article (as opposed to External links, which may just be related information), and I've added a link to the FAQ (although admittedly it overlaps the general Satellite News link). ~ Jeff Q (talk) 10:00, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] RI 195

Hello. Just wanted to say thank you for correcting the RI 195 shield. That makes perfect sense. Thanks! --K1vsr (talk) 18:39, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Secret Interstates (was "I-94")

I dont think Alaska officially has any United States (much like Hawaii), and if they did they would be catagorized and thus label differently. So, even if A1 is an e-w road that touches a foreign border, its not an 'offical' interstate, per sey.--Gephart 02:23, 3 November 2005 (UTC)

Actually, it is, it's just unsigned (there are plenty of unsigned Interstates, like I-595 in Maryland, that are on the AASHTO register but not signed to avoid local confusion). SPUI, who is considered a god among roadgeeks, or www.aaroads.com, which is a leading roadgeek website, could give you further info.

Do you do anything with Civil engineering?Gephart 08:48, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
No, but one does not need to be in the field to know info about a subject. That's like saying you have to be on the crew of Star Trek to know for sure that Gene Roddenberry wanted to give the Klingons ridged foreheads since 1966.
http://www.interstate-guide.com/unsigned.html shows you where the unsigned, yet still existing, Interstates are in this country.

[edit] Musika Reika

Hi. Just for your info, User 24.123.116.97 blanked your article on Musika Reika, claiming that he was the DJ and that the article should be deleted, and it was AfD'd by User 24.123.116.102 who I think is the same person. I restored it, but it's still up for AfD. The AfD discussion is here. Herostratus 05:49, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

Actually....24.123.116.97/102 was DJ Milla herself, and the edits were authorized. Reverting to her version.
  • Emi,

The Wikimedia Help Desk received a message from Amelia M. Samples as follows. Given her e-mail address I assume she is DJ Milla.

"This article was placed in reference to a shoutcast that I had set up. The show has been cancelled and this article was posted containing material that I didn't approve. The show no longer exists, will not exist in the future, please mark this page for deletion."

Because of the backlog, the e-mail was not responded to until today. Capitalistroadster 07:57, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

  • Further to that, the article can be speedy deleted if you and the other editor agree. I have mentioned this in my reply that this was possible. I would be grateful if you could confirm your consent and I will speedy this once I have confirmation from you both. Capitalistroadster 08:06, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Blanking

Hey, I noticed that you blanked the gibberish that some imbecile inserted on the talk page for The Devil Went Down to Georgia. Although I know you meant well, please don't blank pages - not even talk pages, not even if the only edits in their history are gibberish. Instead, mark them for speedy deletion with {{nonsense}}, and it will automatically be listed.

No harm done; this is just so you know. DS 15:47, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Sorry...I figured I was simply reverting vandalism... (EmiOfBrie 18:37, 6 February 2006 (UTC))

[edit] 2006 Duke University lacrosse team scandal

I've asked SlimVirgin to reprotect the 2006 Duke University lacrosse team scandal article from anon users. It is ridiculous we have to waste time on the same edits again and again. --Brian@popflux.com

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Myfox25.png)

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Myfox25.png. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --WCQuidditch 12:39, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

It was orphaned because it got needlessly taken off the page it appeared on. The logo is being advertised on WFXT official media (new website in development www.myfoxboston.com) and is therefore a valid logo. Someone called the logo "irrelevant", but all indications point to WFXT using that branding logo if they get a secondary My Network TV affiliation. Added it back to the WFXT page. - EmiOfBrie 15:30, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Television station logo galleries

These galleries need to be removed immediately, per WP:FUC #3 and #8, and not replaced. Relevant discussions and explanations are at WP:TVS, but in the meantime, this content violates Wikipedia's copyright policies and needs to be removed immediately. If there are any other articles with such galleries, those galleries also need to be removed.

This is sufficiently pressing an issue that, while I would rather not have to, I will be forced to block you if you continue to reinsert these galleries into articles. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 03:02, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Never mind....I was not aware, sorry....you'd think this would have been caught earlier. You must admit, seeing only 2 galleries deleted by only one user did seem suspicious at the time. -EmiOfBrie 03:04, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey, no problem. I hate to be undoing other peoples' hard work, but it's just not allowed here. :/ (It'sbeen understandably unpopular at WP:TVS.) I've removed them from a few dozen articles so far, but there's always more than needs to be done. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 03:07, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

I have read WP:FUC, and I'll reiterate my original stance: I DISAGREE with the administrator's opinion on this matter. I believe the images in the galleries completely fall under the guideline set in point no. 8, as they DO CONTRIBUTE SIGNIFICANTLY to the main theme of the article(s) and do not exist for purely decorative purposes. Areas that can be considered shaky ground would be found in points 1 and 3, though as long as we continue to properly credit sources and keep redundancy to a minimum (i.e. the same logo appearing more than a few times with just background changes, etc.), that should be acceptable.

We should be able to keep the galleries, and A Man in Black should not be imposing his will (a way of possibly abusing his administrative powers) upon us without first giving us an opportunity to speak our opinion. Rollosmokes 08:43, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
