The EMD F59PH is a diesel-electric locomotive made by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division (EMD). It was originally ordered by the Canadian commuter railroad GO Transit as a passenger locomotive. A successful design, further sales followed to Metrolink of California, and development led to the streamlined F59PHI.
