Elymian language

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Elymian language is the extinct language of the ancient Elymians. Evidence for its being an Indo-European tongue rests primarily with the Elymians' probable Anatolian origin, and with fragmentary knowledge from a few surviving inscriptions. The Sicanians, on the other hand, seem to descend directly from the neolithic peoples present in Sicily as early as 8000 BCE.
