Eltville am Rhein (Eltville on the Rhine river) is a town in the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis, Hesse, Germany. The name, despite ending on "ville", is not French, but stems from "Alta Villa". Eltville is known for its wine, Champaign, and roses. Some of the most renown German wineyards are located within the city limits (Steinberg, Rauenthaler Baiken, Erbacher Marcobrunn).
