From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ellie Crisell (born 1976, County Durham, England) is a journalist/television presenter who currently works on the children's news bulletin program Newsround on CBBC. She sometimes appears on Newsround Extra - an occasional special programme detailing important topics, mostly for children with a general bias towards environmental issues.
Crisell attended the University of Birmingham, going on to achieve an MA in Broadcast Journalism at City University of London. She gained some small time television work before being unveiled as Newsrounds new female presenter in February 2003 after Becky Jago, the previous leading presenter, decided to leave.
Notable stories which Ellie was personally involved in reporting included the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake in which she travelled to Indonesia to see in person the effects of the disaster. She also travelled to Athens in Greece to give daily reports on the 2004 Summer Olympics.

[edit] Controversy and Criticisms
- Crisell and co-Newsround presenter Laura Jones were once said to be wearing "too little clothing" on air by some parents. The BBC defended this by saying it was during summer and they felt hot.
