Elk River (British Columbia)

The Elk River is a 192 km (119 mile) long river, originating in the Rocky Mountains of eastern British Columbia, Canada. It flows through the Elk Valley in a southwesterly direction, joining the Kootenay River (here the Lake Koocanusa reservoir) just north of the British Columbia-Montana border. Elk River runs through the communities of Elkford, Sparwood, Hosmer, Fernie, and Elko.
