Elie Buconyori

Dr. Elie Buconyori, is currently the Free Methodist bishop in Burundi and Kenya. Dr. Buconyori received his PHD in Christian Education with High Honors from Trinity International University in Chicago, IL. He is also the President of Hope Africa University located in Bujumbura, Burundi. He is married to Joy Butoyi Buconyori, who was the former Coordinator of Child Care International in Nairobi, Kenya. Joy received her Masters of Arts in Communication from Daystar University. Together they have four children, Desire, La Charite, Le Beni and Bonheur. Bonheur Buconyori, who is the youngest of the four, was also the first African Student Body President at Greenville College in Greenville, IL. He graduated in the top 1% of his class at Greenville College with a BA in Business Management and Political Science and achieved a 4.0 Departmental GPA. He has recently worked for US Senator Barack Obama, US Senator Richard Durbin and Governor Rod Blagojevich of Illinois.
