Elftor is the main character of an eponymous webcomic. He is a small yellow creature with an orange pointy hat that looks quite like a gnome, even though he claims to be an elf. Elftor lives in Elfland (which in real life is Vermont) and has a sense of morality which some people may consider unusual, such as killing and eating friends like Cheesetor, a talking piece of swiss cheese. The majority of the comics were done in MS Paint.
The comic is known for its dark humor, twisted logic and heavy sarcasm. Certain polemic subjects like politics are often portrayed on Elftor's stories, in a rather humorous way. Several comics are not in modern English, such as Ælftor and Elftor Goes to a Bakery, wich is written in Dutch. The comic is also famous for its countless guest appearances, such as Osama bin Laden, Descartes, Harry Potter and God, along with others.
Elftor has had many adventures over the years, including Elftor Goes to Saudi Arabia, Elftor Transcends Partisan Politics, and Elftor The Web Designer.
The comic debuted on July 30, 2001. There was a long break, that lasted almost two years, between October 6, 2004 and August 15, 2006. Elftor returned on August 15 with Elftor Provokes Israel and continues with its infamous irregular updates.
