El Presidente is the self-entitled debut album from Scottish band El Presidente, released on 24th October 2005. The album was also released on 8th of February in Japan with two extra tracks, a new recording called "Lies" and a cover of Prince's "Raspberry Beret", which was also included as a B-side to "Turn This Thing Around". In total four singles have been released from the album.
The current line up of El Presidente is not actually featured on the album. It was recorded by Dante Gizzi And His Brother Guiliano Gizzi (Who was in gun, alongside Dante, and he played lead guitar) Other Guests on the album are Ross Galloway, who played synths on Rocket, Liam Nugent, who performed backing vocals on Rocket.Emma Murphy also performs backing vocals on If You Say You Love me, Hanging Around and Old Times. Also, Alan Thornton (who was also in Gun) drums on tracks 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12. Track 10 in the Albums booklet claims Alan Thornton is the drummer, but recent investigatian shows that the record company made a mistake, and it is in fact Dawn Zhu who drums on that song, along with 1, 2 and 3
