El Paso, Guyana

El Paso is an Amerindian community in the Potaro-Siparuni Region of Guyana,to the west of Tumatumari Landing. It is populated by Amerindians and mixed races. The Amerindians are members of the Macchusi, Akaweyo and Wapishana tribes. There is some degree of integration with other race groups.
There is a primary school and an Anglican Church. Most of the Amerindian have moved away from their traditional culture and have embraced the mainstream culture. There are approximately 40 households in this village.
