El Papagayo is a comic book western criminal created by John Albano and Tony DeZuniga and published by DC Comics and first appearing in Johna Hex vol. 1, #2 (May 1977).

He is a Mexican outlaw who, due to the machinations of Quentin Turnbull, became the archenemy of bounty hunter Jonah Hex in the late 1800s. The soul of El Papagayo currently suffers in Hell, as documented when Hawk and Dove visited the underworld.

Batman and Robin once encountered a modern El Papagayo in the Republic of Montegua, who may or may not have been a descendant of the original.
