The EL-DE-Haus which served as a Headquarter and prison of the Gestapo in Cologne between 1935 and 1945 is now a National Socialism Documentation Center focusing on the all-day impact of Nazi propaganda and rule on Cologne's society. Sadly, up till today, the only translated part of the countless high quality documents, installations, media and other sources exhibited there, are the prisoners' graffitis from the walls of the cells. Nonetheless, the EL-DE-Haus was recommended in the Lonely Planet travelguide for Germany.
