User talk:Ekim2006
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ekim, images are formatted like this: [[Image:imagename.jpg|thumb|left|This is the caption. It says whatever you want it to say. You can include [[wikilinks]] in the caption.]]. The parameters are optional (and there are others as well), but generally you should use the "thumb" parameter, which is required for captions. The default location is the right, but you can specify "left", "center", or "right". If you don't like the default size, you can specify the size in pixels with a parameter like "300px". Each parameter is separated by a pipe ( | ).--ragesoss 04:28, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Also, if you are still uploading more images, it's better to upload them to Wikimedia Commons rather than Wikipedia. And if it is on Commons, you don't need to do anything differently than if it was on Wikipedia (i.e., you don't have to upload it to Wikipedia as you did with the insulin image).--ragesoss 04:38, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
This is really confusing. I don't even really know what I'm doing. It's much more complicated than I imagined. I'm trying to add one more image for penicillin. It's from the website: http://www.scdhec.gov/administration/history/scph_History_files/frame.htm#slide0035.htm. Do you think you can help?
Also, I found a website that has that image in the .jpeg form, but I still can't get it to download. http://www.hhmi.org/biointeractive/museum/exhibit99/3_fleming.html
- I uploaded it to Wikimedia Commons (which automatically places it on Wikipedia as well) as Image:Penicillin cures gonorrhea.jpg.--ragesoss 04:46, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:PenicillinImage2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:PenicillinImage2.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.
Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jesse Viviano 05:36, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
