Ein Lied Kann Eine Brücke Sein

Ein Lied Kann Eine Brücke Sein (English translation: "A Song Can Be A Bridge") was the German entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1975, performed in German by Joy Fleming.
The song was performed fourth on the night (following France's Nicole Rieu with Et Bonjour À Toi L'Artiste and preceding Luxembourg's Géraldine with Toi). At the close of voting, it had received 15 points, placing 17th in a field of 19.
The song is a dramatic ballad, with Fleming singing that a song can be the means of changing oneself and reaching goals.
Despite its relatively low placing, the song has become something of a fan favourite, with the commemorative CDs released to coincide with the Congratulations special in late 2005 featuring it.
It was succeeded as German representative at the 1976 Contest by the Les Humphries Singers with Sing Sang Song.
