Egyptian hip hop

Egyptian hip hop is a new, raw, audacious and exciting form of music coming from the North African country incorporating issues of the region and abroad. Prevalent hip hop comes from artists such as MTM, Poetic Justice (see article below) and an upcoming soulful American-born Shareef.

Egyptian hip hop artists can be subject to ostracism in their home country by local religious scholars.
