From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The same title was used for the governing council of Iraq from 1968.

When Neguib and Nasser came into conflict, the Council sided with Nasser and removed Neguib from power.
[edit] End of Council
When Nasser seized power in Egypt, he decided to abolish the Council. Thus, on July 24, 1954, the Council dissolved itself and announced the end of the Egyptian revolution.
