[edit] Challenges Facing The Egyptian League

Currently revenues in the Egyptian league are not to their potential. Many reasons contribute to this factor. Television rights are controlled by the government. The government decided to schedule games on national television, instead of private television. If media rights were sold to private networks, the league would generate larger sums of profit.

Other problems such as facilities have weakened the league. Many facilities are old and are facing problems on the pitch. And all current facilities such as Cairo Stadium are not used to full capacity. Risks of terrorism, and lack of funds for security have caused lower capacities.

In addition, league administration have lacked in organizing proper standards in comparison to top leagues in the world. Problems such as scheduling league fixtures, organizaion of proper online databases, & other minor details have lowered standards in the league.

If the Egyptian League could control its media rights & fix problems with facilities such as security, seating, accessability, pitch & all the matters relating, the Egyptian League could be very profitable.
