While it is true the name is trademarked, the protocol is a recognized and registered protocol that can be implemented by others, or software to use it indepentantly can be licenced from the creator. Several US ports do most of their inter-company communications over it, as do some trucking companies.
I will admit to being biased: I wrote the article and I'm an employee of the company founded by the person who created this protocol. However it is in specialized use, by companies around the world. I think it is notable. DStaal 19:19, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
