Edwin Eisendrath served as the alderman of the 43rd ward of Chicago, serving the Lincoln Park area. In October 1993, he resigned to become the administrator for the Region V office of the Department of Housing and Urban Development in Chicago, one of HUD's largest and busiest. He is currently Vice President of Academic Affairs for Kendall College. He was defeated in the Democratic Party primary by incumbent Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich in March 2006.
