Edward Young (Royal Household)

Edward Young is the Assistant Private Secretary to the Queen, in the Royal Household of the Sovereign of the United Kingdom from September 2004. He was born in 1966, and educated at Reading Grammar School. Young joined Barclays Bank in 1985, and served in various financial and managerial positions, including Deputy Head of Corporate Bank Public Relations. From 1999 to 2001 he was advisor to the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer and Leader of the Opposition. He joined Granada plc in 2001, and was Head of Communications until shortly before his appointment to the Royal Household. He succeeded Stuart Shilson in the Private Secretary's Office.
