Edward Stanley, Lord Stanley

Edward Stanley, Lord Stanley is a style of name used by many generations of the Stanley family. It normally denotes the heir to the Earldom of Derby. Many Earls and heirs have been known as "Edward Stanley, Lord Stanley", however arguably the most prominent was Edward Smith-Stanley, 14th Earl of Derby, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on three occasions in the 19th century.
