Edward Partridge (August 27, 1793–May 27, 1840) was an early member of the Latter Day Saint movement, the first person to hold the prominent position of Bishop and Presiding Bishop. Partridge died in 1840 at Nauvoo, Illinois. Joseph Smith commented that his death could be attributed to the stresses and persecutions accosted on him and other Mormon settlers in western Missouri in the 1830's.
